Glasgow: Looks like we’re in for some snow this week! Weather warnings are out, and they’re not just for snow. Strong winds are also on the way.

From 3am Friday to 3pm Saturday, we’ll see snow and gusty winds. An amber warning kicks in Friday morning, warning of very strong winds and possible disruptions.

Storm Éowyn is heading our way, bringing winds up to 80mph along the coast. Inland, we might see gusts around 60mph. So, travel could get tricky.

The Met Office says we can expect wintry showers by the end of the week. Rain will start falling northeast on Friday morning, but it might turn to snow, especially in the hills.

They mentioned that any snow accumulation will be short-lived, mainly on the hills. We could see 2-5 cm above 100 meters and 5-10 cm above 300 meters.

But up north of the Central Belt, it could stick around longer. They’re predicting 15-25 cm above 300 meters, with blizzard conditions possible.

Areas like East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, and others are on the list for potential impacts.

The forecast for Glasgow from Friday to Sunday shows rain and snow at first, then very windy conditions. Saturday might bring scattered wintry showers, with more rain and strong winds later on Sunday.

Stay safe out there, and keep an eye on the weather updates!
