Glasgow: Police Scotland is sounding the alarm about Storm Eowyn. They say it could cause a lot of disruption for drivers. The storm is expected to hit on Friday, January 24.

An amber warning for strong winds is in place for Glasgow from 6am to 9pm. Plus, there are two yellow warnings: one for snow and another for wind. The snow warning is from 3am to noon, while the wind warning lasts all day.

The police are particularly concerned about areas like Renfrewshire, Lanarkshire, and Fife. Winds could reach 70mph inland and up to 90mph along the coast. Thankfully, the winds should calm down by evening.

Drivers are urged to plan ahead and avoid unnecessary travel during the storm. If you can, delay your trip. HGV and bus drivers should be extra careful, especially on exposed routes.

During snowy conditions, keep a safe distance from the car in front. And don’t forget to check your windscreen washer levels. Stay safe out there!
