A tragic incident in Ashford has led to a murder investigation after a woman died and a toddler was seriously hurt
Police got a call about safety concerns around 1:15 PM. They rushed to a home on Woodthorpe Road. Sadly, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The little girl was taken to the hospital for treatment.
A man in his 30s has been arrested. He’s suspected of murder and attempted murder. It seems the victims and the suspect knew each other. So, there’s no wider threat to the community.
The Surrey and Sussex Police Major Crime Team is leading the investigation. They’re working hard to gather all the facts. DCI Kimball Edey mentioned that this is just the beginning of the investigation.
