Sunbury-on-Thames is gaining attention for its skyrocketing house prices, making it a top property hotspot in the UK.
In 2024, house prices in Sunbury soared by an impressive 12.5%. The average price jumped from £527,005 to nearly £600,000. That’s a big leap!
This northern Surrey town has always been a favorite for commuters. It’s just about 50 minutes to London Waterloo, and even quicker from nearby stations.
Sunbury is a great spot to live, thanks to its proximity to London and charming nearby towns like Kingston-on-Thames and Guildford. Plus, you’ve got fun places like Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures just a short drive away.
And if you travel a lot, you’ll love that Heathrow Airport is only 20 minutes away. You could practically wave to passengers as they fly off!
Interestingly, Sunbury is the only South East town on Rightmove’s list of housing price hotspots for 2024. Bristol and Swinton in Greater Manchester also saw significant increases, but not quite like Sunbury.
While London remains the priciest place to live, it actually saw a slight drop in house prices. Meanwhile, the North East of England experienced the highest growth at 4.2%.
For the South East, the increase was more modest at 2.5%. Still, it’s the second most expensive region in the UK, with average prices around £466,971.
Looking ahead, Rightmove predicts a 4% rise in average asking prices for 2025. They also expect around 1.15 million housing transactions next year. Exciting times ahead for the property market!
