Surrey: A man named Clive Peter Niblett has been sentenced for historical sex abuse. He targeted boys at a children’s home, using sweets and drinks to gain their trust.

This all happened back in the 1970s when he worked at Palmerston House in Romsey and later at Burbank Children’s School in Woking. The victims were just kids, aged 10 to 15.

Niblett’s crimes came to light after he pleaded guilty in 2016 to abusing two boys. He got eight years for multiple charges, including indecent assault and buggery.

After the first two victims spoke out, more came forward, leading to an investigation. Niblett would give gifts to the boys before abusing them, which is just heartbreaking.

Now 73, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison recently. One victim shared how his life was changed forever, saying his innocence was stolen by Niblett.

He described the nightmares and sleepless nights he’s endured for over 40 years. The trauma still haunts him daily.

Detective Inspector Ross Linaker from Surrey Police said Niblett preyed on vulnerable boys, and he hopes justice brings some peace to the victims.

He encouraged anyone who has faced similar abuse to come forward. They will be listened to and supported.
