Surrey: Storm Éowyn is on its way, and it’s going to be a doozy. The Met Office is warning us about some serious wind and rain. Even though Surrey isn’t under a weather warning, we’re still in for a rough ride.

The storm is expected to kick in early Friday morning. Mike Silverstone from the Met Office says we should brace ourselves for some pretty disruptive weather. While Northern Ireland and parts of northern England will see the worst of it, we can’t let our guard down.

In Surrey, we’re looking at gusts around 50mph and heavy rain. Places like Guildford, Haslemere, and Farnham could see downpours from 6am to 9am on Friday. So, if you have plans, you might want to rethink them.

Driving could get tricky, too. The RAC warns that strong winds might bring down branches or even trees on the roads. It’s a good idea to keep an eye out and drive carefully. Those sudden gusts can catch you off guard, especially if you’re near big trucks.

The worst winds are expected Friday morning, but they should calm down by the afternoon. Still, places like Haslemere will feel those 50mph gusts. Woking, Redhill, and Dorking won’t be far behind either.

As we head into Saturday, another storm could roll in, bringing more rain and wind. So, keep your umbrellas handy for Sunday and Monday, but it shouldn’t be as bad as Friday. Stay safe out there!
