A man has been arrested after an armed siege in Cambuslang left two women injured and hospitalized, prompting an ongoing police investigation.
Two women, aged 16 and 41, were reportedly assaulted at a home on Mill Road. They were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but have since been discharged.
Things escalated when a man barricaded himself inside the property. He even set a fire before climbing out onto the balcony. He was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
Smoke filled the street from the flat, creating quite a scene. A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with everything that went down.
Police are still piecing together what happened and are asking anyone with information to come forward. Detective Inspector Gary Smillie mentioned that the area was busy, so they want to hear from anyone who saw anything.
If you have dash-cam footage or CCTV from the area, they’d love to see it. They also thanked local residents for their patience during the chaos.
If you know anything, call 101 and mention reference 2232 from January 16, 2025.
