Glasgow: A local woman is making waves by opening a new cafe. Kirsty Hutton has decided to leave her job to pursue her dream. She’s been running a horsebox cafe called The Bonnie Bean with a friend. But now, she’s ready for something bigger.

Kirsty is taking over the old Andina cafe on Duke Street in Dennistoun. Renovations are in full swing, and she plans to serve delicious cakes and coffee soon. She’s keeping the staff from Andina, hoping their familiar faces will bring in regulars.

At 39, Kirsty is excited about this new chapter. She shared that she and her friend had a small horsebox cafe, but life got busy. After taking a full-time job in hospitality, the horsebox had to take a back seat.

When the chance to open a cafe popped up, she jumped at it. Her husband knew the previous owners, and they were ready to hand over the lease. Now, she’s looking to create a community vibe with art classes and fun activities for kids.

Kirsty plans to serve coffee, cakes, and eventually brunch items like pancakes and mac and cheese. She’s aiming to open on January 19 for coffee and cakes, with more food options coming in February. People are already curious, popping in to see the progress.
