Glasgow: A deli in the West End is having a tough time. They want to sell alcohol, but a neighbor is not happy. The neighbor claims the deli is leaving a mess in the close.

Today, the licensing board saw photos of the deli’s bins. They looked pretty messy. Because of this, the board wants to talk to the deli about their waste disposal. They decided to hold off on the deli’s license application until they sort this out.

A resident spoke up about the issue. He mentioned vermin and said there’s been bread and oil left out. He was quite upset, saying, “They are making a real mess.” He doesn’t think they should be allowed to expand.

The deli’s representative defended them. He said the operators are experienced and run other places well. He mentioned they offered to meet the neighbor, but didn’t hear back.

He also pointed out that other people have dumped trash in the area, including a suitcase. He insisted it’s unfair to blame the deli for the mess.

The board heard complaints about both commercial and domestic waste. Councillor Dan Hutchison noted the bins didn’t look tidy or organized. He even mentioned they have photos as proof.

The decision on the deli’s license will come later. For now, they need to address these waste concerns.
