Glasgow: Residents can weigh in on plans to revamp the riverside. There are two sessions coming up where you can share your thoughts.

The focus is on Custom House Quay and Carlton Place, near the South Portland Street bridge. They want to create a “river park” that everyone can enjoy.

The project will include building out into the river on the north bank. A planning application should be submitted soon.

Before that, Glasgow City Council is hosting sessions on January 30. You can check out the plans and give your feedback at the city chambers.

The goal is to improve the quay walls and make the open spaces more inviting. They want to create a fully accessible urban park with green spaces and better access along the river.

Two sessions will run from 11 am to 2 pm and 5 pm to 8 pm. The design team, Hawkins\Brown, will be there to discuss the masterplan for both banks of the Clyde.

Your feedback will help shape this important area of the city. The council believes it can become a focal point for Glasgow again.

The consultations will take place in the Satinwood Suite at George Square. After the sessions, an online survey will be available from January 30 to February 13 for more written feedback.

Funding for this project comes from the Glasgow City Region City Deal, a major infrastructure program supported by the UK and Scottish governments.

The council sees the river as a huge asset for the city, enhancing quality of life and boosting the local economy.
