Glasgow: A red weather warning is in effect as Storm Éowyn approaches. The Met Office is serious about this one. They’re predicting winds up to 89mph. That’s no joke!

Residents should brace for flying debris and possible damage to homes. Some roofs might even get blown off. Power lines could go down too, making driving really risky.

Expect road closures and delays on public transport. Buses, trains, and ferries might be affected. The warning lasts from 10am to 5pm on Friday.

This warning isn’t just for Glasgow. It covers much of the Central Belt and the west coast. Northern Ireland is also under a red warning.

An amber warning will be in place from 6am to 9pm, with more wind and travel disruptions expected. Glasgow will also have a yellow warning for wind throughout the day.

Earlier, there was a yellow snow warning, but that’s been lifted. Still, keep an eye out for updates, especially if you’re traveling this weekend.
