Glasgow: The National Entitlement Card, or NEC, is super handy. It gives access to free bus travel for elderly and disabled folks in Scotland. Plus, it helps with train, subway, and ferry rides too.

For those over 60, the card lasts a lifetime. But if you’re disabled, it might only be valid for three years. So, keep an eye on those expiry dates!

SPT has changed how renewals work. They don’t send out forms anymore. So, it’s up to you to check when your card expires. To avoid any hiccups, renew at least five weeks before that date.

You can apply online at getyournec.scot. It’s easy! Just use your smartphone, tablet, or computer. If you’re over 60 or disabled, you can renew online. Young folks under 22 should check freebus.scot for their info.

When renewing, make sure to have proof of eligibility ready. All the details you need are on the Transport Scotland website. If online isn’t your thing, you can email or mail a copy of your proof.

Don’t forget to include your name, card number, date of birth, and address when you send anything. There’s even a video guide on getyournec.scot to help you through the process.

Stay updated and make sure you don’t miss out on your travel benefits!
